so I started off this video entertained but somewhat unimpressed — pretty music, that’s neat. then at 2:35 the look on that woman’s face caught my breath and made me tear up, &that was cool, &then I was back to baseline internet video emotion levels. then, completely out of nowhere at about 4:30, I just burst into tears.

I love the excitement of the little kids who have probably never had the chance to see this kind of performance before. people should flashmob great music & “high” art more often. out of museums &concert halls &onto the streets or whatever.

All the little kids dancing who probably don’t have the patience quite yet to sit through an orchestra concert!

Boston every 4th of July does a fireworks show timed to synchronize with the playing of the Boston Pops.  My “buddy” at work is pretty new to the country from India and had never heard the 1812 Overture before, so his reaction to that + fireworks was highly entertaining to see today.

I don’t know why I started crying, but I did.

That was great!  You will never convince me that this isn’t one of the most brilliant pieces of music ever composed.

Oh, I started crying. I miss playing in an orchestra though I could never be as good as these musicians were.
